4 Jun 2008 - Pratt Cup vs Tortworth

Once again, two seemingly well matched sides in the Pratt cup had the same one losing by 10 wickets. Each time the same two batsmen achieved the feat.

Batting first, Tortworth were soon in trouble on a damp wicket, on which the hosts, Kingswood, made excellent use of cut and spin, backed by good fielding. In particular, a catch each by Angus McCubbin,Rich Wilding and Ben Guy. McCubbin, Vince Taylor and Steve and Jamie Moran  picked up an economical wicket apiece. But it was the third change bowler, Barry Morgan,whose 4-1-6-5 wrecked Torworth`s hopes, leaving the visitors 77-9 off 20 with only Nigel Price (33) offering much resistance.

Unable to get the same movement off the pitch, Tortworth could not part Kingswood`s opening pair Kevin (31*) and Barry (44*), who knocked off the runs by the 12th over, a result very similar to 2006`s.
