18 May 2008 - The "frog in a blender" works wonders for Tortworth

A good all rounder`s performance by Tortworth`s Mike Derham was too much for hosts Kingswood.

Batting first, Kingswood got off to a good start with 25 from 16 year old Ben Foxwell until Tim Archer`s 4-37 took out the top order, for whom only Angus McCubbin`s 36 showed much resistance. Archer`s replacement by Mike Derham did little for Kingswood`s fortunes. Starting with two wicket maidens, his 4-11 finished Kingswood`s innings. Without a lusty 17 from Jim Long, Kingswood would scarcely have reached three figures. As it was, the 128 was never going to be enough.

Derham`s batting finished what his bowling had begun with a cultured, unbeaten 70 and a little help at the other end from Darrell Holpin`s 25 easing Tortworth to an eight wicket win.
