11 May 2008 - Another 16 year old does well

Kingswood`s innings of no more than 31 overs, including four ducks and a one, might  seem like vindication of visitors, KCCC`s, decision to field. However a second consecutive century from Barry Morgan (105) and supporting knocks from Richard Wilding (33), Jamie Simmons (31), Jim Long (20) and Rod Alexander (12) brought a more than useful 226.

A run-out by 16 year old Tom Devine and a wicket apiece from opening bowlers, Jim Long and Steve Moran, stifled KCCC`s challenge. A middle order rally by Clark and Winston (both 25) was ended by Jamie Simmons, Winston beautifully taken by keeper Ken Wood in the area of second leg slip. Wickets for Ben Guy and Tom Devine and another run-out ended KCCC`s reply at 122, 104 behind, despite a valiant Skipper's innings by Doug (19).
